Unregistered mini project:
Added 1/2 elastic to each leg (on the butt side) using hem for elastic channel, put lace on, then added ruffles. Got the base boxers from target. Very easy mini project :)

Here in a time of holiday giving and receiving, I have wondered some things about this time of year. many of us do secret santas, be it with our friends, or part of meetups, or even with coworkers. many of us search high and low for that perfect gift, and without a doubt some of us get a gift that makes us wonder wtf where they thinking.

1. what was the best xmas/holiday season gift you have received?

2. what was the worst xmas/holiday season gift you have received?

3. What would you LOVE to gt most of all, your dream gift?

4. When shopping for secret santas - gift exchanges how do you go about choosing the gift? *most of these have spending limits, do you try to find something you know they will love or like that is within the price range, or do you just buy a basic item? and hope they kinda like it.*

With the holidays soon upon us, I thought I'd post some interesting holiday fabric I found floating around the internet.

Holiday Cupcakes )

I think everyone and their mom has seen the Robert Kaufman "Cherry Cupcakes" print used on handmade things so these holiday cupcakes are a nice change for me (and they're on sale, woohoo.) Anyway, to promote discussion what unusual fabrics have you found and used or considered using for lolita?

Project Title: Kuro Lace
Project Start Date: 12/9/09
Planned Finish Date: Wheneber
Actual Finish Date: 12/10/09

Did you make changes from original plan? Not really. Kona Cotton and the Lace was 40% off so I just grabbed it at the store and figured out a design later.

How happy are you with the result? 100%! Nice n froofy. Unfortunately.... MY MACHINE CRAPPED OUT just as I finished the lace. So I hand cranked it for the whole waistband. Even then, about every two inches, the thread would snap. So yeah. Frustrating finishing this up. Otherwise it would have been a one day project. Butyeah. Attacked the machine with a Leatherman and Non-stick baking spray. Behaves now.

Pic heavy as always )

Alright, so this might sound kind of stupid, but I'm determined to make myself a yaplog, even though I don't read Japanese. I remember seeing a 'how to' sort of ... post a LONG time ago for Yaplog, with directions on how to set one up / do basic things, but I can't seem to find it anywhere, and I've checked around egl for the past while.

can anyone help me with yaplog? )
